May 2025 Update - The Fight Continues!

Dear Supporters of Ukraine,
As things stand, Ukraine needs our support more than ever. With the second round of pseudo-negotiations in Istanbul having expectedly failed, with political pressure and military support still inadequate, it is up to all freedom-loving and righteous people, in Ukraine and abroad, to make a difference!

The current situation along the front lines is tense; the “slow start” Russian summer offensive has begun. After Trump dealt a carte blanche to Putin, a “buffer zone” shall be conquered on Ukrainian terrain in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions. Our UAO team will react to the renewed threat, and support the units defending in both directions.
This newsletter is about:
- A joint effort - UAO and associated volunteers supply more cars to the defenders of Ukraine (associated with our current pick-up truck fundraiser)
- UAO on the ground - making a difference every day
- Know the gear - drone signal boosters (signal range extenders)

A joint effort - three more cars for the AFU
Since 2022, sourcing vehicles for the AFU was not UAO’s primary focus, although one of our recent fundraisers was dedicated to just that (see our April newsletter). Finding the right type of cars, with the right condition, at the right price, is quite an effort. However, Russia’s relentless fibreoptic FPV-drone attacks changed the equation - drone jammers can’t intercept them, and vehicle losses keep mounting. This is why our joint fundraiser with Car4Ukraine for much needed pick-up trucks is more urgent than ever, with soldiers literally telling us “any car, really!”. Thankfully, Stichting Diel/Vrienden van Oekraïne stepped up with a donated 4WD Caddy, and UAO’s Sytske de Boer delivered it to the troops. On top of that, three more cars could be sourced right after: two reliable 4WD pick-up trucks, and a Toyota van. Dick and Arend took the wheel of a Mitsubishi Outlander (for the SOF), and a Toyota Hiace that will go to the 225th Separate Assault Regiment. A Subaru Forester will arrive later this week.

UAO on the ground - making a difference every day
For several months now, your extraordinary support enabled our ground team to accelerate deliveries to the front lines. Whether pick-up trucks or other equipment from our warehouse in Kyiv, UAO’s ground team delivered equipment worth in excess of $250,000 to the steadfastly valiant defenders, since our April newsletter found its way to your inbox - thank you so much for that!
Your support made a concrete positive impact on all front lines, whether in the South along the Dnipro river, in the North where the almost customary Ukrainian heat wave looms, or in the eastern Donbass region - we can relay the defender’s heartfelt gratitude to you, our generous donors from all over the world. We supported the soldiers of the Khartiia Brigade, 23rd Battalion, 22nd Brigade, 59th Brigade, 3rd Assault Brigade, the “Omega” special unit, the “Arey” Battalion, the International Legion, and more. In particular, we supplied various types of drones - Mavics, Matrices, Autels, and FPV drones, as well as Targan ground drones, generators, power stations, signal boosters, tablets and vehicles. Continuous supply of these items, regularly destroyed in battle, is essential for any soldier on the front line and in the hot zone beyond. Please see our latest photos below to get an impression of what an impact your donations make.

Fighters from the Khartiia Brigade received Targan ground drones and equipment for energy supply
We already supported the 22nd Brigade during the northern campaign - and we doubled down: Thermal vision drones, generators, Starlink terminals, power stations and AvengeAngel drone signal boosters
Know the gear - drone signal boosters (signal range extenders)
As part of our occasional newsletter series “Know the gear”, we provide more details about the equipment we provide, so that you know what we do with your donations. This time: drone signal boosters.
How do they work?
Despite the rapid rise of fibre-optic FPV and bomber drones, higher quality surveillance drones are still better operated wirelessly, and this is where drone signal boosters come in. Drone range extenders are electronic devices that increase the communication distance between a drone and its controller, while also enhancing the signal’s quality.
Drone signal boosters are somewhat similar to the omnidirectional WIFI signal range extenders that some of you may use at home. They are mounted on a tripod and connected to a drone pilot’s controller via two coaxial antenna cables with up to 20 metres in length, providing more safety for the drone pilot that can shelter in a dugout or cellar with inferior signal quality or no signal at all. The booster is battery powered and houses a triple-band antenna and two power amplifiers. A more powerful and higher quality antenna not only stabilises the signal, but even more so enhances the drone’s range of operation, which is essential in the contested battlezone that is now up to 15 kilometres deep. In a nutshell, the drone pilot is far less exposed to attacks, while communication with the drone is very much enhanced.
UAO focuses on procuring the AvengeAngel Range Extenders (please check the video link to see how they work), a brand that over three years has established itself on the battlefield.
Thanks to your contributions to the drone fund, we are able to provide the defenders of Ukraine with such critical devices.
Only two weeks ago, we delivered AvengeAngel signal range extenders to the 24th Brigade
