Combat Veteran News (CVN) and Ukraine Aid Operations Join forces again
Last time the CVN community put critical equipment into the hands of Ukraine's mid- and long-range strike crews. This time we go after the hardware itself, for the people who fight with machines out front.
Paul has been covering this shift on the CVN channel all year. Ukraine's elite formations, from the Special Operations Forces to the 3rd Assault Brigade and the new Unmanned Systems Battalions, now send a robot down the road before they send a soldier. A ground drone carries ammunition and water into a position that no vehicle survives, and the same machine carries the wounded back out. A heavy bomber drone gets armed and launched by two men in an open field, and it puts a payload on a target that used to require artillery.
None of this equipment lasts forever. Batteries die after a few dozen sorties, propellers snap, thermal optics burn out, and a ground drone that reaches the zero line often stays there. These crews are fighting a technology war that runs on consumables, and the consumables run out faster than anyone can replace them.
Our Fundraising Aims
We are supporting the formations that already do the most demanding unmanned work on the front, and that we deliver to regularly: Special Operations Forces (SOF) units (in particular the 3rd Regiment), the 3rd Assault Brigade, the 81st Airmobile Brigade, and many more.
Every item on this list was requested by the crews themselves:
- Ground drones (UGVs) components and spare parts, for resupply across ground that kills vehicles and for casualty evacuation
- Components for heavy bomber drones, so strike teams keep flying while their airframes take losses
- Thermal and night optics, because most of this work happens after dark
- Starlink terminals, batteries, chargers and power stations, the connectivity and energy that every one of these systems depends on
